CEG & Mondo.NYC Presents
The Accidentals with Honeysuckle, Dirty Bird and Adam Ahuja [looping-artist & 1manband ]
Female-fronted, multi-instrumentalist power trio, The Accidentals(Sav Buist, Katie Larson, and Michael Dause) kicked off 2018 with the release of their debut album, Odyssey, with Sony Masterworks. They followed the album release with two-hundred days of touring nationally, seventeen festivals, sync placement with Turner Classic Movies, FOX sports, and a RAM Trucks BANDvan #tourtough commercial.
They released their single, "Heavy Flag," produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Lana Del Ray) in October, and followed that with a self -titled Live EP. They aren’t slowing down going into 2019. They are currently scoring an indie film, touring, teaching workshops, guesting with a seventy-two piece orchestra and recording new music w/ Tucker Martine (Neko Case, The Decemberists)
PopMatters says you can’t define them by comparison to any one band, comparing them to a mash up of influences including, “The Beatles, Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Ani Difranco, Neko Case, Brandi Carlile, etc." NPR says “they display equal interest in the focused musical forms of indie rock and pop and the expansive potential of orchestral arrangements, jam band open-endedness and impressionistic singer-songwriter expression,” adding, “they might be the most compelling songwriters of our time."
Honeysuckle is a progressive folk act that blends older influences and traditional instrumentation with modern effects and inspiration. Comprised of Holly McGarry, Benjamin Burns, and Chris Bloniarz, this Boston based trio can frequently be found performing across the country, and playing alongside bands like Del and Dawg, The David Grisman Sextet, The Ballroom Thieves, Boy & Bear, Kitchen Dwellers, John Craigie and others. Honeysuckle was chosen as a Converse Rubber Tracks artist, has recorded an Audiotree session, and performed at Lollapalooza, Mountain Jam, and Newport Folk Festival. They were named by NPR as one of the Top 10 bands of 2016 So Far, and in 2018 they received the honor of Best Folk Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards.
Honeysuckle's new single "Fire Starter" was released in April by AntiFragile Music. Their previous releases "Catacombs" (2017 LP), "Honeysuckle" (2016 LP) and "Arrows" (2015 EP ), will be followed with a 3rd full-length album slated for a June 21 release on AntiFragile Music.
