Who We Are
Creative Entertainment Group is an entertainment company that does club & concert promotion, artist management, venue management, private event booking and coordination, marketing, sponsorship and promotional services to corporations, venues and musical acts. Creative Entertainment Group was founded in 1994. Our clients benefit from the diverse backgrounds of the founders. As principals of Creative Entertainment Group (CEG), Howie Schnee and Mike Maietta each carry two decades of music industry experience.
Before starting CEG, Mike got his start in the music business in the early 90’s. While attending Syracuse University, he worked at Creative Concerts (presently known as Eastern Artists), an independent concert promotion company run by Chuck Chao. While at Creative Concerts, Mike produced shows by Spin Doctors, Phish, Dream Theatre, Stanley Jordan, Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan, and Allman Brothers. Mike entered the world of artist management with a band called The Authority from New York City that he promoted in Syracuse and moved back home to the NYC area to be able to go on the road with the band. In 1994, he and partner Howie Schnee formed CEG.
Before starting CEG, Howie got his start in the music business at Music Unlimited, a management and booking company owned by David Graham (son of the late concert impresario Bill Graham). While at Music Unlimited, Howie helped in all aspects of the company, which oversaw the careers of Blues Traveler and The Hatters; produced major concerts with acts such as Phish and The Spin Doctors at Arrowhead Ranch, an upstate New York venue; and consulted on Lollapalooza and HORDE Festival, the premier alternative rock touring shows of the time. Before starting Creative Entertainment Group, Howie also worked in the marketing department of Carnegie Hall, and at the Bottom Line nightclub. In 1994, he and partner Mike Maietta formed CEG.
Jennifer began her path into the music business while attending William Paterson University where she worked with local talent on campus and assisted in showcasing upcoming bands and songwriters. She grew to managing local artists and volunteering for LifeBeat-The Music Industry Fights A.I.D.S. and has been a positive and proactive force in the music community. Jennifer joined the CEG team in 2005. She is working to build bridges and grow communities of artists and music industry professionals in New York City through developing relationships and partnerships.
A vet of over 1000 shows by the age of 21, Juliette began her career in the music business assisting in the management of bands such as Mr. Breakdown, Quincy Mumford, and Shwizz. After taking on the Vendor Coordinator role for the Return to the Roots festival in 2014, she entered promotions, working with bands such as Umphrey’s McGee and Dopapod, as well as organizations such as HeadCount. She currently stalks Brooklyn venues religiously, supporting only the most deserving acts, but doing so with an unparalleled passion.

Event Planning – CEG regularly produces private parties, corporate events, benefits and fundraisers for organizations and companies such as Australian Consulate, Billboard, Brazil Child Health, ESPN, Facebook Developers Group, Flair Communications, GMR Entertainment, Hole In The Wall Gang Camps, The Howard Stern Show, IDG Marketing, The Lime Group, NY Tech Meetup Group, Pandora, Partnership for Jewish Life, Pernod Ricard, Rolling Stone, ropeadope, Spin, Tulane University, Winter Jazz Festival and more at many different venues, large and small.
Opportunities & Internships
At CEG, we look for dedicated individuals who are interested in learning more about the music business and the execution and promotion of live music events to hire as interns. You must be easily motivated, attentive to details, able to work with MS Word, Excel, and be comfortable & interested in Social Networking sites. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other photo editing software is a plus.
Interns are responsible for:
- Online Marketing (Creating, posting and managing content across key social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, ReverbNation, etc.
- Targeting and reaching out to local store owners and organizations on a show by show basis
- Assist in working to Build, Create & Manage Social Media Campaigns
- Community Management (Interacting with bands, artists & fans)
- Promotional Press mailings and correspondence
- Reaching out to bands and local music scenes
- Gig night help (merch tables, email lists)
- Helping in the design of show posters, banners and other graphics for online use
- Many other daily activities
What’s most important is that you have a passion and love for live music; listening, seeing and behind the scenes. You will get back tenfold, what you put into an internship with CEG. We are a smaller company which makes for a higher learning and experience opportunity. We require a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week which may lead to future paid freelance work.

CEG has an active street team and we are looking for music fans who enjoy talking about music and sharing information. We send our reps out to concerts to help promote for future concerts in the NYC area. Besides promoting CEG Presents events, our clients include AEG Live, Bowery Presents, Live Nation, NYC-based venues (Best Buy Theater, Gramercy Theater, Stage 48 etc.), Regional Festivals (Taste of Country Music Fest, Mountain Jam etc.), Labels and touring musicians.
